Manager of Industry Relations Reports : In person

The manager of industry relations will be a key point of contact between agency and a collection of travel industry partners, to help keep the company focused on growing the sales of new and existing strategic partnerships. This position includes vetting travel suppliers for potential new partnerships as well as bringing on new partners. Negotiate agreements; meet with partners; monitor sales production; and work in tandem with company training and marketing teams to help drive incremental sales. Will be responsible for the performance of these partnerships including overall growth, top up-front commissions, co-op marketing funds and back-end override commissions. Will also work as needed with the customer support department to help resolve and escalate any consumer travel issues by working directly with the partner on the problem.

Requires familiarity with contracts covering distribution via multiple distribution channels such as API, web and phone. Objectives and Responsibilities:

• Meet in-person and over video phone with all Preferred Partners.

• Responsible for securing the best partnerships with destination marketing organizations, cruise lines, tour operators, wholesalers, bedbanks, etc. • Review weekly reports from key suppliers and update internal reporting.

• Assist travel advisors when situations become escalated by directing them to key supplier contacts. • Negotiate yearly contracts/agreements with travel suppliers.

• Meet with suppliers to create yearly marketing/advertising plans.

• Participate in industry events by traveling to attend events throughout the year. • Ensure all supplier co-op budgets have been spent each year.

• Work in tandem with training and marketing teams to help drive incremental sales

• Work as needed with the company customer support department to help resolve and escalate any consumer travel issues by working directly with the partner on the problem. Skills and Qualifications: • Travel industry background

• Strong negotiation skills

• Experience with supplier sales data reporting

• Experience with travel marketing programs and concepts

• Must be able to travel to attend industry and supplier events.

• Extensive Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (PowerPoint, Word and Excel experience is a must)

• College degree is required

• Ability to manage stress and deal with challenges in a positive way

• Excellent communication skills • Ability to work without close supervision, respond to management direction, and take responsibility for projects

• Must possess the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

Any Essential Functions? . Occasional travel may be required for partner meetings, team collaboration, or business events.
